AI Visibility answers: Where do we show up in AI answers, and can machines reach us? In the sidebar this lives under Analytics — Overview, AI Monitoring, and Competitors. Crawl readiness is Tools → Technical health.

Surfaces

Looking for content structure on a page? That lives in Optimize → Page audits under the Recommendable to machines lens. See Page audits.

AI Monitoring

Typical flow:
  1. Open Analytics → AI Monitoring.
  2. Review the suggested prompt set in Prompt Factory (or add your own buyer questions).
  3. Run a check across enabled engines (plan-gated).
  4. Read presence (cited / mentioned / absent), coverage, and competitor appearance.
  5. Use Recommended now for the highest-leverage gap.
  6. On a miss, open See why you’re missing to start Intent Diagnosis → Opportunities.

What you’ll see

  • Tracked prompts with lifecycle (queued / measured)
  • Engine results and citation hosts
  • Coverage against your Site Map pages
  • Competitor mentions and cited URLs when peers win the answer
  • Share-of-voice style views by window (when data is available)

Scheduling

Pro and Agency can schedule recurring monitoring passes (cadence control on paid plans). Free workspaces include a fixed weekly Citation auto-scan within plan limits. Usage and caps are enforced on the organization plan — see Plans & seats.

Enabled engines by plan

Engine toggles and filters in Overview / Citation reflect only the engines your plan includes.

FAQ — How we probe answer engines

We send your tracked buyer question as a Google Search query and read the structured AI Overview block when Google shows one — cited sources included. This uses a SERP data provider (not a Google official API). Not every query triggers an overview; absent on that prompt is normal when Google does not surface one.
No. They are separate engines in your dashboard:
  • Google AI Overview — the AI summary box on a normal Google Search results page.
  • Gemini — how the Gemini assistant answers with web search grounding.
A win in one does not imply a win in the other.
Not yet. AI Mode is Google’s opt-in conversational search experience (separate tab). It often cites different sources than AI Overviews for the same question. We plan a distinct engine when shipped.
Each uses that vendor’s web-grounded API — same class of probe as our in-product citation monitoring. Answers can vary run-to-run; scheduled passes average signal over time.
We use vendor APIs and structured SERP data — not headless browser sessions of consumer UIs. The goal is repeatable, schedulable citation monitoring across engines, with honest limits documented here.

Technical health

Use Tools → Technical health to verify AI crawlers can access and parse your site — robots rules, reachability, and related readiness signals. Fixing Technical issues unblocks Monitoring; it does not replace page-level clarity work.

From Monitoring to change

Monitoring alone is not the product. When you see a gap:
  1. Diagnose — Intent Diagnosis for the question, or a Page audit for a URL
  2. Opportunity — save the work in Optimize
  3. Agent — run a template when you want draft or apply help
  4. Prove — re-check AI; experiment when you need runtime proof
